Why Choose Turd Scooperson?

Besides our irresistible charm and hilarious company name, there are plenty of serious reasons to choose us as your go-to pooper-scooper service in the Duneland area.

  • Reliable, Flexible Scheduling: Whether you need us once a week, bi-weekly, or just for a one-time emergency cleanup before the in-laws come over, we’re here to accommodate your needs. We know life gets busy—so let us worry about the dog poop while you worry about what’s really important, like finding the TV remote.

  • Professional Team: Our staff are trained professionals, meaning we don’t just swoop in with a plastic bag and call it a day. We use specialized tools to ensure a thorough, hygienic cleaning every time, leaving your yard spotless. Plus, our equipment is sanitized after every job, so you can be confident that we’re not spreading germs from one yard to the next.

  • Local Experts: We’re proud to serve northwest Indiana’s Duneland area, including Chesterton, Valparaiso, Portage, and Michigan City. As locals, we understand the unique challenges that come with maintaining a clean yard, whether it’s the ever-changing Indiana weather or a yard with hidden nooks and crannies where those “gifts” like to hide.

  • No Contracts, Just Clean Yards: We don’t believe in locking our customers into contracts. Need to pause services because you're headed on vacation? No problem. Need us to come more often during the busy dog walking season? We’ve got you covered. Flexibility is the name of our game.

  • Affordable Pricing: You’ll find that our prices are competitive, and we offer different packages for different needs. With our customizable plans, keeping your yard poop-free doesn’t have to break the bank.

But what truly sets us apart? Our sense of humor. Because let’s face it: life is messy, and picking up poop isn’t exactly glamorous. So we like to keep things lighthearted, making sure that while your yard is squeaky clean, we’re leaving you with a smile on your face. Let us do the dirty work so you can laugh about it!

Our Services: A Scoop Above the Rest

Here at Turd Scooperson, we offer a variety of poop-scooping services tailored to meet the needs of your yard and schedule. Our goal is to provide you with an easy, worry-free solution to keep your outdoor space clean, safe, and pleasant. No matter the size of your yard—or your dog’s… output—we’ve got the perfect service plan for you.

1. Weekly Cleanings

Perfect for households with active, high-energy dogs who spend a lot of time outdoors, our weekly service ensures that your yard stays consistently clean and poop-free. With this option, we’ll visit your yard once a week to scoop up any new “deposits” and remove them, so you don’t have to worry about it. It’s the ideal choice for dog owners who want to enjoy a clean yard all the time without the hassle of constant cleanup.

2. Bi-Weekly Cleanings

Not quite enough mess to warrant a weekly cleanup? Our bi-weekly service is a great middle-ground. We’ll come out to your home every other week to scoop up all the waste and make sure your yard remains fresh. It’s a great option for smaller yards or households with less active dogs.

3. Monthly Cleanings

If your yard stays relatively clean on its own but still needs the occasional touch-up, our monthly service might be just what you need. We’ll visit once a month to scoop up all the accumulated pet waste, so you can rest easy knowing that your yard is being taken care of.

4. One-Time Cleanings

Hosting a barbecue? Inviting friends over for a backyard hangout? The last thing you want is for your guests to step into a surprise. Our one-time cleaning service is perfect for those situations when you just need a quick, thorough cleanup before a special event. We’ll ensure your yard is spotless and guest-ready in no time.

Whether you need a one-time visit or recurring service, Turd Scooperson is happy to work with you to find a plan that fits your schedule and budget. Got special requests? Let us know! We’re all about making sure your yard stays poop-free, no matter the situation.

The Health Benefits of Regular Pet Waste Removal

Beyond the obvious benefit of having a clean yard, there are significant health benefits to keeping pet waste regularly removed from your property. While it might seem harmless to leave pet waste in the yard, it can actually pose serious risks to both your pets and your family.

Pet waste is known to carry harmful bacteria and parasites such as E. coli, roundworms, and giardia, which can spread through the soil and water. This poses a health hazard not only to your pets but also to anyone who steps on or touches contaminated areas. These pathogens can survive in your yard for months, and simple actions like mowing the lawn or playing with your dog can stir them up.

Regular yard cleanups by Turd Scooperson help prevent the spread of these germs and bacteria, creating a safer environment for your pets, your kids, and anyone else who enjoys your outdoor space. By scheduling weekly or bi-weekly service, you ensure that waste doesn’t have time to accumulate, reducing the risk of infection and keeping your family healthy.

“That Sounds Neato and All, But I Have More Questions.”

 - Yourself, possibly

How Do I Pay?

Our online payment processor handles everything. New Clients can subscribe in minutes through our online sign-up form or call and speak with a member of our Office Staff over the phone to set up their account. After New Clients have spoken with staff, their account login information will be emailed. Here one can find all invoices, see all completed and scheduled service dates, and update or change your payment information via our secure client accounts manager. Of course, Clients can always call the Office during operating hours to make any changes needed to their account.

Am I On a Contract? What If I Want to Cancel?

Clients are under no contract and may cancel at any time. Clients may Call the Office during our operating hours or change their subscription plan in the online Customer Services portal at any time, and will be refunded for any services not rendered.

What If I Need to Pause Service for Any Reason?

Clients may call Call the Office during our operating hours or pause their scheduled service through the online Customer Services portal. We ask for at least 48 hours notice before any requested pauses in service. Please note that clients will be subject to an Initial Cleanup Fee upon resumption of service if the area is not maintained by other means during the period in which services are not provided.

Do You Provide Services Year Round? What About the Weather?

We do provide services year-round and in all forms of weather, so long as it is safe to do so. Should we be forced by unsafe conditions to skip service on our Clients’ scheduled day, double service will be provided the following week, and clients will still be charged for the full month.

Clients who continue service through Winter will not be charged for Spring Cleaning after the snow melts.

What If my Monthly Payment is Late?

Clients whose scheduled payments are not received before their first service date that month will be removed from scheduled service until payment has been completed. Late payments will not be subject to any additional fees, but Clients may be charged an Initial Cleanup fee upon resumption of services if the area is not maintained by other means during the period in which services are not provided.

What About Your Equipment? Poop Is Dirty, You Know.

Of course the safety of our Clients and our Employees is our top priority. Our service technicians clean all equipment used, as well as their shoes, with a kennel-grade cleaning solution after each and every service to ensure the health and safety of your pets and household. Also, that second part wasn’t really a question, but yes, it often can be quite dirty.

How Does Billing Work?

Our Regularly-Scheduled Clients are charged on the 1st of the Month that services are to be provided. Prices are based on quarterly periods, meaning clients are billed the same amount for months with 5 pickups as they are for months with 4 pickups, and new clients wishing to begin service after the 1st of the month will only be charged for the remaining pickup days of that month.

What If I Just Want the Yard Cleaned Once?

Clients who schedule a one-time appointment will be charged upon completion of the work. Clients must have a card on file before we will begin cleaning. If no card is on file by the time of our service technician’s arrival, then our service technician will attempt to contact you at the door and by phone.

Clients who decide to commence with regular service after work is completed will be charged for the remainder of that months service dates at the time they are charged for the completed work. The client’s next payment date would then be on the 1st of the following month.

What Time Will You Arrive?

Although we are unable to provide the specific time that services will be rendered on your scheduled pickup day, we can provide Clients with a heads-up notification approximately 30-60 minutes before arrival, should clients desire to receive them. Think of us like your regular trash pickup, except we bag it for you and all the trash is dog poop. Providing a regular service route on a specific day to a specific area helps keep our prices lower with more stability.

Do I Need to be Home?

You do not need to be home, we need only to be able to access your gate. If we are unable to access your gate, our service tech will attempt to contact you at the door and by phone. If we are unable to contact you by either method without access to the area intended for cleanup, then our service technician will notify you and skip your yard’s service for that day. If this occurs, you will still be charged for the visit, and our service technician will happily provide double service on your next scheduled cleanup date.

Do You Take the Poop With You?

We do not typically take your pet’s waste with us. Waste is collected, bagged, and placed in your outside trash receptacle. If a receptacle is not located, the waste will be double-bagged and left beside the gate.

Is My Satisfaction Guaranteed?

Absolutely, Turd Scooperson always guarantees satisfaction with any services provided. Although we always endeavor to remove 100% of your dog’s waste during every visit, nobody is perfect, and this is also true of our service technicians. We can only pick up what we see on the ground, and this can be especially difficult during Autumn and Winter when ground cover is high. We ask that if we miss a spot here or there along the way that clients give us the grace of that understanding. Of course, should clients be unsatisfied with services rendered, we will happily send a service technician to their home to clean the area until clients are 100% satisfied.
